StormCheck by Purpose Built Systems, LLC helps document construction stormwater inspections. No account is required for local inspection work. We do not include advertising or analytics SDKs, track users across apps, or sell personal information.
Project names, inspector and reviewer identities, credentials, signatures, observations, photos, imported plans, locations and report history are stored on your device. You choose the records to enter or import. Exports can include this information; share them only with intended recipients.
Location is used while the app is in use when you request location-based features. Apple MapKit provides map imagery under Apple’s privacy practices. Weather lookups run only when requested or after you enable automatic nearby weather in About. They send site coordinates or the surrounding search area to the National Weather Service at api.weather.gov and NOAA at www.ncei.noaa.gov and retrieve nearby weather observations. Network providers receive normal connection metadata, including your IP address. Recorded observations and plans are not sent with weather requests. Manual weather entry and inspection work remain available without a connection.
Camera and photo access are used for evidence you capture or select. OCR of imported images and PDFs is performed on device. Dictation requires on-device speech recognition; if unavailable, type the note instead. Audio is not sent to a speech server by StormCheck. System permission prompts control access to the camera, photos, microphone and location.
This App Store release shares records through exports and does not expose cloud or organization-server sync setup. Development and pilot builds may expose optional record sync. In those builds, if you configure personal iCloud sync, record data is transferred to your Apple account’s private CloudKit database. This does not invite other crew members. If you configure an organization’s HTTPS endpoint, queued project records, names, member contact details, location and observation history are sent to that server. The server operator controls access, retention and deletion. Original photo, PDF and plan files travel in project exports; record sync can contain their captions, coordinates and file references. Sync is optional and remains subject to separate live-service validation. There is no PurposeBuilt-hosted inspection backend.
Records remain on your device until removed. Historical evidence and signed records may be retained with a project to preserve its audit history. Export the records you need before deleting the app. Deleting the app removes its local data; copies in backups, iCloud, organization servers and exports are separate. Manage Apple backups and iCloud data through your Apple account, and contact your organization’s server administrator for remote copies. PurposeBuilt cannot erase files already shared with others.
If you contact us, we receive the email address and information you provide to answer your request. Avoid sending confidential site records unless needed.
